FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Every collection is different, and most enquiries begin with a few simple questions. Here are some of the things people ask us most often.

01

Before You Get In Touch

That’s one of the most common reasons people contact us. You don’t need to know what every record is before getting in touch. A few photographs is usually enough to begin the conversation.

The easiest place to start is by sending a few photos of the collection. Shelves, boxes or room photographs are usually enough for us to get an initial understanding of what’s there.

No. In most cases, a few photographs are far more useful than a detailed inventory. There’s no need to create spreadsheets, detailed lists or separate records before getting in touch.

That’s perfectly normal. Many people contact us because they simply want an experienced opinion before deciding what to do next. Start by sending a few photos and we’ll happily have a look.

03

Valuation & SELLING

In some situations, people simply want an experienced opinion before deciding what to do next. Feel free to get in touch and tell us a little more about the collection.

That’s perfectly fine. There’s no need to identify or separate them before getting in touch. A few photographs are usually enough to begin the conversation.

It depends on the collection and the circumstances. Some people prefer to maximize value through individual sales. Others prefer the simplicity and certainty of selling a collection as a whole. We’re happy to discuss both approaches openly.

Every collection is different. Offers are based on the collection itself, its condition, its contents and current market realities.

Yes. Condition plays an important role when assessing any collection. Records that are clean, well cared for and fully playable will generally be more desirable than records that are heavily scratched, warped, cracked, mould-damaged or otherwise unplayable. That said, there’s no need to assess the condition of every record before getting in touch. A few photographs are usually enough for us to get an initial understanding of the collection and discuss the next steps.
